After attending the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign and working in the finance industry, Sangita decided to take a leap of faith and pursue a career in art. As a self taught artist, she began exhibiting her paintings so that she could share her passion for art with others. Since that day only 5 years ago, Sangita has been awarded the distinction of “Master Pastelist” by the Pastel Society of America and has been inducted into the Master Circle of the International Association of Pastel Societies. Her work has been featured in the The Artist’s Magazine, Pratique des Arts (France), The Pastel Journal, Les Maitres du Pastel (France), International Artist Magazine, and Southwest Art Magazine where was named one of the top “Young Artists to Collect Now.”
Sangita’s award winning paintings have hung in some of the most prestigious venues across America and around the world. She has captured the eyes of collectors with her ability to turn ordinary subjects into extraordinary works of art. Hidden in her paintings are stories that give life to her artwork. A group of onions becomes a family posing for a portrait, a curvy pear becomes an actor taking a bow on stage, and a single sunflower becomes a symbol of hope.
Through her creativity, her extraordinary talent, and her eternal passion for art, Sangita continues to create inspiring and compelling paintings. She has described her journey as “the only thing I ever wanted to do. I feel blessed to wake up every day and know that I will be painting.”
