Michael Dwyer has created a new body of work for his show titled, “Obsessed”. With meticulous drawing detail, he utilizes and appropriates painting, architectural and pop culture imagery to express his current thoughts. Through his humor and imagery, Dwyer tackles the tough political issues of our day: gun control, climate change, sexism, racism, world religions, and school shootings. His titles act as a springboard and punctuate the conversation held within each drawing. As a practicing architect, he also pokes fun at architect greats such as Frank Gehry and Mies van der Rohe.
Michael Dwyer received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture in 1972 from OSU and a Master of Fine Art in Printmaking from the University of Tulsa in 1977.
